It was Assassin’s Creed: Origins that broke the deadlock for Ubisoft, celebrated for its beautiful Ancient Egyptian setting and a vast world to explore. Though it also had quite a few titles that didn't do that well, due to internal problems and other troubles following the release of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Assassin’s Creed was the first in the series that introduced us to historical periods like the Crusades, French Revolution and the Age of Piracy in the Caribbean back, and combined with various interesting elements like stealth, parkour, and sandbox, quickly went on to become one of the highest-selling gaming series of all times. The history of Assassin’s Creed - Ubisoft’s flagship and probably longest-running successful franchise – has been eventful.
